‘Mums’ Night Out’ is primarily aimed at all mums who are in the thick of bringing up, finding odd socks, ferrying the kids to and fro or wondering when they grew up so fast! Whether you are a working mum, full time mum, step mum, adoptive mum or honorary mum, whether you love being a mum or are finding it tough at the moment – you deserve a night off! More information and booking details can be found at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/mums-night-out-peterborough-tickets-249212580537. The event is organised by UK charity Care for the Family.
The hosts hope that you’ll come away with:
- Renewed confidence that the strength of your motherhood comes from the freedom to be yourself (because the Instagram perfect family is not the reality!)
- An awareness of how to look after yourself and juggle the shifting demands of raising a family
- Encouragement that it’s not just you – the demands of motherhood are many but so are the moments that make them worth it
- A reminder that you are worth the time you get to yourself, a healthy mum benefits you and your family
- An unforgettable night of fun, that’ll leave you feeling rejuvenated!
Your hosts for the evening are Cathy Madavan and Gill Lyth from Care for the Family. Cathy is a popular speaker and author, who, having faced her fair share of life’s curve balls, encourages others to live with courage and resilience. Cathy lives on the South Coast with her husband Mark and their two daughters who are trying to fly the nest! Gill took on the role of Care for the Family’s Scotland Representative after being a chocolatier for 5* hotels, A-list celebrities and royalty. Now, rather than creating chocolates, she simply eats them. Her particular interest is in speaking about mental health through her own experience of living with it, and in reducing stigma around it. She lives in Dunfermline with her husband and two children.
A short video (around 40 seconds) of Cathy and Gill talking about the event can be found here: https://youtu.be/u_tlLZAHLIY. You can hear what some of the mums who attended the first night of the tour in Derby thought of the show here: https://youtu.be/VpWxCYXS0hk
