A meteor shower bringing up to 15 shooting stars per hour will be visible in the skies above Peterborough over the next week.
The Lyrid meteor shower, associated with the Comet Thatcher, is set to light up our skies between April 16 and April 25.
While the Lyrids can typically deliver up to 15 meteors per hour, on some rare occasions lucky stargazers can see as many as 100 per hour.

The shower will peak on April 22, with the highest number of meteors visible that night.
Known for their vibrant colours and brightness, the Lyrids can sometimes bring exceptionally bright fireballs.
The Lyrids reach their peak in the Northern Hemisphere each April, providing stargazers with a breathtaking spectacle to enjoy.
